Common questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open Settings on your iPad → tap [Your Name] at the top → Subscriptions, then choose Ecomap CreatorCancel Subscription. Your access stays active until the end of the current billing period — no further charges after that. You can also cancel from apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions on any device signed into your Apple ID.

How do free trials work?

Both plans (Standard Annual at $19.99/yr for up to 10 ecomaps, and Unlimited Annual at $29.99/yr for unlimited ecomaps) come with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. You will not be charged during the trial. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you will not be billed. If you do not cancel, the subscription auto-renews at the selected plan's price.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled directly by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find Ecomap Creator in your purchase history, and tap Report a ProblemRequest a Refund. Apple typically responds within 48 hours.

I purchased a subscription but the app says I am not subscribed.

Open the app → tap the gear icon (top-right of the dashboard) → Subscription Restore Purchases. This re-syncs your entitlement from Apple's servers. If that does not work, please email us with your Apple ID receipt number and we will dig in.

Where are my ecomaps stored?

Locally on your iPad. They appear in the iOS Files app under On My iPad → Ecomap Creator. If you have iCloud Drive enabled, you can move them to iCloud Drive → Ecomap Creator to sync across your devices. We never see your ecomaps — there is no cloud sync to our servers, no analytics, no third-party SDKs. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I report a bug?

Inside the app, tap the gear icon → Support Report a Bug. That opens a pre-filled email with your device + app version attached, so we can reproduce faster. You can also write us directly at support@ecomapcreator.com.

Can I export my ecomaps?

Yes — open any ecomap → Share (top-right) → choose PDF, PNG, or SVG. You can also email the raw .ecomap file (compatible with the web ecomap editor at genogramai.com/ecomap) or AirDrop it to another device.

Is there a web version?

Yes — a web ecomap editor is available at genogramai.com/ecomap. It uses the same file format as the iPad app, so you can move work between the two.

What is the difference between an ecomap and a genogram?

A genogram looks backward — generations of family relationships, medical history, and intergenerational patterns. An ecomap looks outward in the present — the systems and supports a client is connected to right now (school, work, healthcare, faith, friends, community). The two are typically used together. For the genogram side of that workflow, see genogramcreator.com.
